Google Analytics
For the purpose of designing and continuously optimizing our websites according to demand, we use Google Analytics in the standard setting based on your consent, a web analytics service of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California 94043 (“Google”).
In this context, pseudonymized usage profiles are created and cookies are used. The cookie generates the following information about your use of this website:
- Browser type / version
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL (the previously visited page)
- Hostname of the accessing computer (IP address)
- Time of the server request
The information is used to evaluate the use of our websites, to compile reports on website activities and to provide further services related to website use and internet use for the purposes of market research and demand-oriented design of these internet pages.
You can withdraw your consent at any time. To do this, please follow this link and make the corresponding settings via our banner.
You can also prevent the installation of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly. Furthermore, you can prevent the collection of the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) as well as the processing of these data by Google by downloading and installing this browser add-on.
Recipients / Categories of Recipients:
Within the framework of Google Analytics, the data collected by cookies are transmitted to Google. Google may use these data for its own purposes and link them with other data sets, for example your search history or personal accounts known to Google. We have no influence on these data processing operations. The data processing is essentially carried out by Google.
Further information on data protection in connection with Google Analytics can be found on the Google Analytics website.
The information generated by the cookie is transferred to a server of Google in the USA (third country) and stored there. For the USA there is no adequacy decision of the European Commission and therefore no level of data protection comparable to that of the European Union, so that in particular the exercise of data subject rights may be made more difficult and access to the data by governmental authorities cannot be excluded.
However, we have concluded so-called Standard Contractual Clauses with Google by means of which Google undertakes to comply with European data protection standards. Please contact our data protection advisor (see section “Who we are”) if you would like further information or copies.
Storage Duration / Criteria for Determining Storage Duration:
The IP addresses are anonymized immediately after collection (so-called IP masking), so that it is no longer possible to draw conclusions about your person on the basis of the IP address.
Furthermore, the cookies used here and the information contained therein are stored for the period specified in the cookie provisions and then automatically deleted. If the specification “persistent” appears in the column “expiration”, the cookie will be stored permanently until the corresponding consent is withdrawn.
If you withdraw your consent, your data will be deleted immediately.
Reports created on the basis of Google Analytics no longer contain any personal reference.
Google Tag Manager
Purposes of Data Processing:
For the purpose of designing our website according to demand and continuously optimizing it, we use Google Tag Manager. Through this service, website tags can be managed via an interface.
Google Tag Manager merely implements tags. This means that no cookies are used and no personal data are collected. Google Tag Manager triggers other tags which may in turn collect data. However, Google Tag Manager does not access these data.
If a deactivation has been carried out at domain or cookie level, it remains in effect for all tracking tags, provided they are implemented with Google Tag Manager.
You can withdraw your consent at any time.
You can also prevent the installation of cookies by adjusting the settings of your browser software accordingly. Furthermore, you can prevent the collection of the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) as well as the processing of these data by Google by downloading and installing this browser add-on.
Recipients / Categories of Recipients
Transfer of Personal Data within the SWARCO Group:
It may be that we transmit your inquiries addressed to us by email, telephone or post, together with the personal data contained therein, to other companies within the SWARCO Group if this is necessary for processing.
Furthermore, your data will, if required for the implementation or initiation of a business relationship, be passed on to other companies of the SWARCO Group.
Within the SWARCO Group, your data may also be passed on to other companies of this group for marketing purposes.
Transfer of Personal Data to Third Parties:
As a rule, personal data are not passed on to third parties outside the SWARCO Group. We only transfer personal data to third parties if you have previously expressly consented to the transfer, or if we are obliged to do so due to statutory provisions.
In exceptional cases, however, data are processed on our behalf by processors (i.e. by service providers whom we commission to process personal data that are not collected by them themselves but provided by us). These processors are carefully selected, are also audited by us and are contractually obliged (in particular to maintain appropriate technical and organizational security measures).
A transfer of personal data to third parties may also take place if this is necessary to protect the vital interests of a person, or if the transfer is otherwise permissible on the basis of applicable laws or other legal provisions.
Under no circumstances will your personal data be sold or licensed to third parties by us.
International Data Exchange:
We may transfer your data to third parties located abroad for the purposes of the data processing described in this privacy policy.
Such third-party companies are obliged to protect the privacy of individuals to the same extent as we do.
If the level of data protection in a country does not correspond to the Swiss or European level, we ensure contractually that the protection of your personal data corresponds at all times to that in Switzerland or the EU. For this purpose, we agree on the EU standard clauses with partners and implement additional technical and organizational measures if necessary.
Certain third-party providers mentioned in this privacy policy are located in the USA. For reasons of completeness, we point out to users residing or having their registered office in Switzerland or the EU that surveillance measures by US authorities exist in the USA that generally allow the storage of all personal data of all persons whose data have been transferred from Switzerland or the EU to the USA.
This takes place without differentiation, restriction or exception based on the pursued objective and without an objective criterion that would make it possible to limit the access of US authorities to the data and their subsequent use to very specific, strictly limited purposes that could justify the interference associated with both access to these data and their use.
Furthermore, we point out that in the USA there are no legal remedies available for affected persons from Switzerland or the EU that would allow them to gain access to the data concerning them and to have them corrected or deleted, or there is no effective judicial protection against general access rights of US authorities.
We explicitly inform the data subjects about this legal and factual situation in order to enable them to make a correspondingly informed decision about consenting to the use of their data.
Users residing in Switzerland or in a member state of the EU are informed that the USA – from the perspective of the European Union and Switzerland – does not have an adequate level of data protection, among other things due to the issues mentioned in this section.
If we have explained in this privacy policy that recipients of data (such as Google) are located in the USA, we will ensure through contractual regulations with these companies and, if necessary, additional suitable guarantees that your data are protected by our partners at an adequate level.
Use of Our Website
The protection of your privacy is very important to us. Therefore, we have generally designed our internet offering in such a way that its use can take place anonymously. We use information that we receive and store during your visit to our websites exclusively for internal purposes and to improve the design of the websites. Exceptions apply if the data processing is necessary to defend against and prosecute attacks that constitute criminal offenses or that impair the functionality of our web offering.
Usage Data
When you visit our websites, so-called usage data are temporarily stored on our web server for statistical purposes as a log in order to improve the quality of our websites.
This data record consists of:
- the page from which the file was requested
- the name of the file
- the date and time of the request
- the amount of data transferred
- the access status (file transferred, file not found)
- the description of the type of web browser used
- the IP address of the requesting computer, shortened by the last three digits
We use this information in order to enable access to our website, to control and administer our systems and to improve the design of the websites. These data are stored in anonymized form. The creation of personal user profiles is therefore excluded. Data about persons or their individual behavior are not collected.
Our legitimate interest lies in the purposes of data processing listed above. These data are not transmitted to external parties.
Cookies
The internet pages partly use so-called cookies. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies serve to make our offering more user-friendly, effective and secure.
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.
Most of the cookies used by us are so-called “session cookies”. They are automatically deleted after the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognize your browser during your next visit.
You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and allow cookies only in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser.
If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.
Necessary cookies enable basic functions and are required for the proper functioning of the website. We have a legitimate interest in designing the website to be as user-friendly as possible.
Social Media Plugins
We enable you to use social media plugins. However, for reasons of data protection, we only integrate the social media plugins used by us in a deactivated form.
When you access our websites, no data are therefore transmitted to social media services.
However, you have the possibility to activate and use the social media plugins integrated on our websites. For this purpose, we use a solution which results in all data and functions required for displaying the social plugin being provided by our web server in a first step.
Only if you decide to activate the respective social media plugin and click on the corresponding preview image or symbol will your browser establish a connection to the servers of the operator of the respective social media service in a second step.
If you activate a plugin, the social media service will in particular receive your IP address as well as knowledge of your visit to our websites. This takes place regardless of whether you have an account with the respective social media service.
If you are logged in, the data can be assigned directly to your social media profile.
Overall, we have no influence on whether and to what extent the respective social media service processes personal data after activation. However, it is likely that the social media service creates usage profiles from your data and uses these for the purpose of personalized advertising.
In addition, your data are used to inform other users of the social media service about your activities on our websites.
You give your consent by clicking on the preview image. Please note that the integration of many social plugins results in your data being processed outside the EU or the EEA.
In some countries there is a risk that authorities may access the data for security and monitoring purposes without you being informed or being able to take legal action.
If you no longer wish the activated social plugins to process your personal data, you can prevent future processing by no longer clicking on the preview image or symbol of the respective social plugin.

Your Rights
You are entitled to request detailed information about which personal data we have about you and how we process them, as well as to request a copy of your personal data and the release of certain personal data for the purpose of transfer to another body (so-called data portability). You may also have your data corrected or deleted, restrict our processing activities concerning this information and object to the processing of your personal data. You can also decide to withdraw your consent. Please note that even if you have decided to withdraw your consent, we may continue to process your personal data to the extent that it is legally required or permitted.
